Health Care Reform Update from Capitol Hill

Late last night (or early this morning), the U.S. Senate defeated its final health care repeal bill by a 49-51 vote. This was BIG victory for heart and stroke patients. If that bill had made it to the President’s desk, 16 million more Americans would be without crucial health care coverage.

No doubt this happened because of advocates like you. Over the past few months, You’re the Cure advocates made hundreds of calls, sent thousands of emails, and tweeted at all hours of the day…and it made a huge impact!

We know the debate isn’t over yet and we will continue to urge Congress to work in a bipartisan way to put patients first. But for now, let’s be proud of what we’ve accomplished together.

Thank you for everything you do. Your work is impactful, your voices are strong, and your advocacy is truly lifesaving.
