Let's increase funding for heart and stroke programs

I know it’s odd to say, but we are sick of being No. 1. We are tired of heart disease being the leading killer of Americans, and seeing too many of our loved ones dying of this and of stroke - the No. 5 cause of death of Americans.

But there is hope. It's through research and prevention.

We are asking Congress for a $2 billion increase for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and a $6 million increase for CDC's Heart Disease and Prevention Program. Investing in more medical research and prevention programs will stop more friends and family from suffering from these diseases.

Will you quickly email your Members of Congress and urge them to make this a priority?
