US House passes AHCA

Breaking News. By a vote of 217-213, the US House of Representatives passed the American Health Care Act (AHCA). We are very disappointed with this vote, as the AHCA fails to support the needs of heart and stroke patients.

“It’s extremely disappointing that today, members of the House of Representatives failed to stand up for America’s patients – particularly those who most rely on Congress’s strong leadership. For more than two decades, our Association has embraced the core belief and advocated that health care must be accessible, affordable and adequate for all Americans. It is inconceivable why the House majority would pass this bill since it does not meet these fundamental standards,” said AHA CEO Nancy Brown.

See the rest of Nancy Brown's statement.

Now the action moves to the U.S. Senate, where we will continue to work to make sure insurance is accessible, affordable and adequate for all Americans.

Stay tuned for ways you can help us in this fight!
