Protect Our Children: Tell FDA to Ban Flavored Tobacco

The tobacco industry is directly targeting young Americans through its promotion of flavored tobacco products like gummy bear and cotton candy e-cigarettes or chocolate and mixed berry cigars. We NEED to put a stop to this!

The FDA is accepting public comments on flavored tobacco and they need to hear from you directly. Please take a moment and submit a comment to the FDA about the dangers of flavored tobacco and encourage them to ban fruit, candy, and menthol flavors in all tobacco products.

Your comments can be brief (just a few sentences). We’ve provided some talking points below to get you started, but writing your own original comments will be the most effective in swaying the FDA to our side.

Tell the FDA that:
  • I’m concerned that the tobacco industry is using fruit and candy flavors like gummy bear, cotton candy, chocolate, mixed berry, and unicorn vomit to target kids.
  • At the same time, the number of children and adolescents who use e-cigarettes and cigars has increased dramatically.
  • FDA study found that nearly 81% of youth age 12-17 and 86% of young adults ages 18-24 who are tobacco users first tried a flavored tobacco product.
  • To protect kids from starting a deadly habit, the FDA needs to ban flavors – including menthol – in all tobacco products.
